About us

The Winchester Sport Art and Leisure Trust (Winchester SALT) was established as a charitable trust in July 2014. In January 2016, Winchester SALT became a foundation Charitable Incorporated Organisation (charity no 1165047).

Winchester SALT's vision is for Winchester to be a great place for people to live, relax, play and work.

Our strategic objectives are:

  • To secure the delivery of new facilities for sport, leisure and the arts that are accessible to our community
  • To ensure existing community facilities are protected and enhanced
  • To broaden the provision of sport, art and leisure activities, particularly for children and young people
  • To celebrate the achievements of community sports clubs and other local organisations and to help them to thrive

Winchester SALT volunteers:

  • Advocate for the protection and enhancement of the city’s facilities and services
  • Build coalitions and broker partnerships to improve sport, art and leisure provision
  • Undertake research, gather evidence and draft proposals
  • Support community sport and arts providers by providing information, advice and publicity
  • Co-ordinate community events

We undertake all our projects in partnership with other organisations and with the support of local volunteers. We have a small core team, all of whom are volunteers:

Camilla Woodhouse – Chair
Steven Pease – Treasurer
Susan Falconer – Secretary
